Caribbean Vacations: If You Enjoy It, You'll Find It Here!

The Caribbean encompasses a number of islands plus the
eastern coast of Central America (including Mexico's
Yucatan Peninsula). You will find, in this relatively
small area of the globe, diverse locales, activities, and
peoples. They all share a moderate, tropical climate and
breathtaking beauty.
Planning a trip to the Caribbean will present you with a
number of options for your trip. Do you want to visit
a single location, or do you want to visit multiple
locations? How do you want to get there? What do you want
to do while your there? Many of you will find these
decisions quick and easy; others of you will have your
heads spinning trying to pick from "too many choices."
If you~re a golfer, you~ll find several premier golf
courses around the area. There are plenty of great
shopping opportunities of you're so inclined. If you want
to be pampered, five-star hotels abound. If you're a
history-buff, the shores of the Western Caribbean are
rich with the ruins of Mayan civilization just waiting
for you to explore them.
Then, there's the Caribbean Sea itself and the lovely
beaches that line it. Visitors to Cozumel may want to
arrange a snorkeling or scuba outing to the reef that
is second in size only to Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
Note to potential divers: You must be PADI-certified to
use scuba equipment.
A variety of boat trips await you, too. These can range
from a day of sailing, to deep-sea fishing, to slicing
the waves with a power boat. Be safe, though, and choose
an activity and supervision that matches your ability and
experience (or lack thereof) with boats and boating.
A search of the internet can locate a number of hotels,
cruise lines, tours, and rentals. Your travel agent
should also be able to provide you with a number of
alternatives that suit your tastes, timetable, and budget.
This author's website is also humbly offered as a planning
resource for past, present, and future Caribbean visitors.
